One-shot mode and shutdown — power budget decisions
The DS1722U+ includes a one-shot conversion mode and a shutdown mode. One-shot lets you take a single temperature reading on demand and then return to a low-power state, which is useful in battery-powered loggers or intermittent-read systems where continuous conversion would drain the supply. Shutdown mode cuts the active current to near-zero between reads.
