130 ms minimum reset timeout — what it buys the system
The 130 ms minimum reset timeout gives the power supply time to stabilise after a brownout or power-up before the processor is released from reset. For a typical MCU with a 16 MHz crystal, 130 ms covers the oscillator start-up and regulator ramp — the supervisor holds the core in reset until the rail is solid. With a single voltage monitored, this part fits designs where only the main core supply needs supervision — no auxiliary rail sequencing. The 4.4V threshold is aimed at 5V nominal rails; the supervisor trips when the supply falls to 4.4V, which is 12% below the nominal 5V, leaving margin before the logic rails collapse.
