The DS1556WP-120IND+: The RTC tracks time in HH:MM:SS (24-hour format) and date in YY-MM-DD-dd format, with built-in alarm, leap-year compensation, watchdog timer, and Y2K compliance.

Industrial temperature grade and PowerCap package

The 34-PowerCap Module is a surface-mount package with an integrated battery cap — the lithium cell is housed in the cap, not on the PCB, so the battery can be replaced without desoldering the module. The battery supply voltage is 3V. The parallel interface simplifies connection to an MCU or FPGA with a standard address/data bus — no I2C or SPI protocol overhead. The 128KB NVSRAM is accessed through the same bus, so a single chip provides both the timekeeping registers and the non-volatile storage for configuration or event logs.
