SPI RTC with integrated trickle charger and NVRAM
The DS1344E-33+ is an SPI-bus real-time clock from Analog Devices, providing timekeeping in YY-MM-DD-dd date and HH:MM:SS (12/24 hr) time formats with a leap-year correction through 2099. On-chip 96 bytes of NVRAM store configuration or calibration data without a separate EEPROM — the trickle charger maintains the backup battery above 1.3 V so the SRAM contents and clock register persist during a main supply loss. Timekeeping current draws 120 µA to 160 µA at 3.63 V to 5.5 V, which sets the battery-life budget for a coin cell in a portable or backup scenario.
RoHS3 compliant (2011/65/EU + 2015/863), the part is free of the ten restricted substances including lead, mercury, and cadmium, meeting the EU directive for electronic equipment placed on the market after July 2019.
