SPI RTC with integrated NVRAM and trickle charger
The DS1344D-33+T&R is an SPI real-time clock from Analog Devices that maintains seconds, minutes, hours, day, date, month, and year with automatic leap-year compensation through 2099. The time format is selectable 12-hour or 24-hour, and the date format is YY-MM-DD-dd. It includes 96 bytes of NVRAM for storing alarm thresholds or system status, a programmable square-wave output, and a trickle-charge circuit for charging a backup super-cap or battery from the main supply. The device operates from a main supply of 3.0 V to 5.5 V and a separate battery-backup supply from 1.3 V to 5.5 V, allowing the RTC to keep time when the main rail is off. Maximum timekeeping current is 120 µA to 160 µA at 3.63 V to 5.5 V, which sets the battery-life budget for a backup cell.
The device is supplied on tape and reel (and cut tape) for automated assembly.
