What this digital pot does on the board
The DS1267BE-050+ is a dual 50 kΩ digital potentiometer with 256 taps per channel, linear taper, and a serial interface — think of it as two voltage dividers you can set from the MCU without a screwdriver. Each tap step works out to about 195 Ω, so you get fine-grained adjustment for trimming reference voltages, setting comparator thresholds, or biasing analog front-ends.
Package and field-swap reality
The cascade pin lets you chain multiple DS1267s on the same serial bus, which saves MCU pins when you need more than two channels of adjustment.
Temperature range and where it lives
The 750 ppm/°C tempco means the resistance drifts about 37.5 Ω over a 100°C swing — worth factoring in if you are setting a precision bias that must hold across the temperature range.
Sourcing and compliance
ROHS3 compliant, so it fits EU builds and most global environmental requirements without an exemption hunt.
