What the DS1232N+ is and where it fits
The DS1232N+ is a single-channel voltage supervisor from the MicroMonitor™ family, designed to monitor a 5V supply rail and assert a reset signal to a processor, microcontroller, or digital ASIC when the supply drops below a programmed threshold. It offers both active-high and active-low reset outputs, configurable as open-drain or push-pull, which gives the designer flexibility to interface with any reset input polarity without extra glue logic. The part is packaged in a through-hole 8-pin DIP (0.300" width), making it a natural fit for breadboards, legacy controller cards, and industrial control boards where socketed ICs are preferred for field service.
Lifecycle and sourcing reality
The DS1232N+ carries an Active lifecycle status per the manufacturer — no end-of-life notice, no last-time-buy window to track. For BOM planning, this part does not trigger a PCN watch or require a qualified replacement search.
