NVSRAM with no battery — what that means for the BOM
The Maxim Integrated DS1225AD-150IND+ is a 64Kbit non-volatile SRAM organized as 8K x 8 bits. It uses Maxim's NVSRAM technology, which stores the SRAM contents to an internal EEPROM array on power-down and restores them on power-up — no battery, no external supervisor, no lithium cell to replace or dispose of. The 150 ns access time and 150 ns write cycle time match the bus timing of many 8-bit microcontrollers and legacy CPLD-based memory interfaces. The industrial temperature range (-40°C to 85°C) suits it for outdoor telecom cabinets, factory-floor controllers, and engine-bay data loggers where battery-backed SRAM would drift out of spec or leak.
150 ns access — bus timing fit
Access time is 150 ns; write cycle time is also 150 ns.
Industrial temperature and supply range
Rated for -40°C to 85°C ambient. Supply range is 4.5 V to 5.5 V.
Lifecycle and sourcing
The DS1225AD-150IND+ carries an Active lifecycle status from the manufacturer and is ROHS3 compliant. No end-of-life notice or last-time-buy window is in effect.
