Switch topology and signal routing
The DG419CY+ is a single-pole double-throw (SPDT) analog switch configured as a 2:1 multiplexer/demultiplexer, routing one common terminal to either of two independent I/O pins. The SPDT topology suits signal selection, sample-hold front-ends, and gain-switching networks where one signal path must be active at a time. Maximum on-resistance is 35 Ohm, with channel-to-channel matching held to 3 Ohm max — tight enough that the insertion loss difference between the two legs stays below 0.1 dB into a 10 kOhm load. Off-state leakage is 250 pA max, so the switch does not load the signal source when the channel is open.
Switching speed and signal isolation
Turn-on time is 175 ns max, turn-off 145 ns max — the part toggles at several MHz without distorting the settling window. Crosstalk between channels is -85 dB at 1 MHz, meaning a 1 Vpp signal on the active channel couples less than 60 µV into the off channel at that frequency. Charge injection is 3 pC typical — when the switch opens, the injected charge shifts the sampled voltage by roughly 3 pC / C_hold, a figure that matters in precision sample-hold circuits where the hold capacitor is in the tens of picofarads. Off-channel capacitance is 8 pF on both source and drain sides.
Supply flexibility and operating range
Dual-rail operation lets the switch handle bipolar signals without level shifting — the analog signal range tracks the supply rails. Single-supply mode is simpler for unipolar signals up to 30 V. The part is specified over this range, so derating or guard-banding is not required for indoor bench or rack equipment.
