Quad SPST analog switch for precision signal routing
The Maxim Integrated DG412CY+ is a quad single-pole single-throw (SPST) normally-open analog switch in a 16-SOIC surface-mount package. Each of the four independent switches handles rail-to-rail analog signals with a maximum on-resistance of 45 Ohms, making it suitable for audio routing, data acquisition multiplexing, and precision instrumentation where signal attenuation must be minimised. The switch operates from a single supply of 10 V to 30 V or dual supplies of ±4.5 V to ±20 V, giving the designer flexibility to match existing power rails without a separate regulator. With a maximum turn-on time of 175 ns and turn-off time of 145 ns, the DG412CY+ supports switching rates adequate for many audio and low-speed data acquisition applications, though not intended for high-frequency RF switching.
Signal integrity and channel isolation
Crosstalk between channels is rated at -85 dB at 1 MHz, which keeps bleed-through low in multi-channel systems such as scanner multiplexers or audio crosspoint switches. Charge injection of 5 pC and off-leakage current of 250 pA maximum preserve the accuracy of sample-and-hold stages and high-impedance sensor interfaces. Channel-to-channel on-resistance matching is within 3 Ohms maximum, so gain errors across channels in a multiplexed system stay consistent without trimming.
Package and temperature grade
The 16-SOIC package (0.154" body width, 3.90 mm) is a common footprint for analog switches, fitting standard PCB layouts and reflow profiles. Rated for the commercial temperature range of 0°C to 70°C, this part is intended for indoor, office, and lab equipment environments. For industrial or automotive temperature ranges, consider the industrial-grade variant in the same family.
