100 Ohm on-resistance — what it means for signal integrity
The Maxim Integrated DG408CY+ is an 8:1 single-ended analog multiplexer/demultiplexer in a 16-SOIC package. Its 100 Ohm max on-state resistance sets the insertion loss for analog signals; with 1.5 Ohm channel-to-channel matching, gain errors across channels stay tight without external trimming. The -92 dB crosstalk at 100 kHz keeps adjacent channel bleed below the noise floor of a 12-bit system, making this part a fit for precision data acquisition and audio routing where isolation matters.
Supply flexibility: single 5 V to 30 V or dual ±5 V to ±20 V
The DG408CY+ runs from a single supply as low as 5 V or as high as 30 V, or from dual rails spanning ±5 V to ±20 V. This range covers common analog rails: ±15 V for industrial signal chains, +12 V for automotive sensor interfaces, or +5 V for battery-portable designs. The 500 pA max off-leakage and 3 pF / 26 pF channel capacitance keep the signal path clean even at higher impedances.
Switching speed and charge injection
Ton and Toff are both 150 ns max, adequate for sample rates up to a few megahertz in multiplexed ADC front-ends. The 2 pC charge injection is low enough that glitch energy on the output settles within one conversion cycle for most SAR ADCs without an external track-and-hold.
Commercial temperature grade — indoor use only
Rated 0°C to 70°C, this part is intended for lab, office, or controlled indoor environments. Not qualified for automotive under-hood or extended industrial temperature ranges. For -40°C to +85°C operation, look at the DG408DJ+ or DG408AK+ variants in the same family.
Active lifecycle — no LTB risk
The DG408CY+ carries an Active product status with ROHS3 compliance. No end-of-life notice or last-time-buy window is in effect. This part is suitable for new designs and ongoing production without supply-chain disruption.
