Organized as 256 x 16 bits, the memory is non-volatile and retains data through power cycles. The 2 µs access time means the host microcontroller can read a calibration table during boot without stalling the startup sequence. ## TO-92-3 package and board integration Housed in a TO-92-3 through-hole package with formed leads — the same footprint as a standard transistor. This makes it breadboard-friendly for prototyping and easy to retrofit into existing through-hole PCB layouts where a surface-mount EEPROM would require a board spin. The 1-Wire interface requires only a single pull-up resistor on the data line.
