The MEMS resonator replaces the traditional quartz crystal element — Pure Silicon™ is Abracon's branding for this approach — which removes the mechanical resonance and improves shock and vibration immunity on the board. ±10 ppm frequency stability covers the bulk of precision timing requirements without needing a TCXO or OCXO. For Ethernet PHY reference clocks, microcontroller PLLs, and FPGA distributed clocks, 48 MHz is a common multiplier target — the oscillator feeds the clock tree directly and the downstream IC locks to it. ## Power draw and the standby function Maximum supply current is 16 mA in active operation. In standby — the Power Down function listed in the spec — current drops to a maximum of 15 µA.
