The 100 A maximum fault current rating means this PTC can interrupt a short-circuit current up to that level without rupturing — the polymer matrix heats and expands, creating a high-resistance barrier that holds until the fault clears or the supply is cycled. ## Surface-mount 1206 concave — fits the standard footprint The concave body allows visual solder-joint inspection after reflow — the side terminations are exposed along the package edge, so a standard 1206 land pattern works without modification.
